Changes to EuroMillions were introduced in September 2016 – what is new?
In September 2016, EuroMillions introduced a number of changes that were designed to produce larger jackpots on a more regular basis, while also providing players with more chances to win supplementary prizes. The main changes to the game were:
- Lucky Star ball pool increases from 11 to 12.
- Bigger jackpots occurring more frequently.
- Larger starting jackpots.
- Superdraws with guaranteed jackpots of €130 million (estimated £100 million).
- Two Millionaire Maker prizes of £1 million guaranteed in every draw.
- Mega Friday replaced by Mega Week, with multiple prizes on offer in the last Tuesday and Friday draws of the month.
- Increase of price of a single ticket from £2 to £2.50.
- A brand new European Millionaire Maker game to be played occasionally throughout the year.

What is European Millionaire Maker?
The European Millionaire Maker works in the same way as UK Millionaire Maker, but is held on special occasions and is played by ticket holders in all nine countries that participate in EuroMillions. Each EuroMillions line will have a unique raffle code printed alongside it and this must be matched to the code drawn in order to win a prize of £1 million. Codes will be generated at random and consist of four letters and five numbers (for example, ABCD12345). The first letter of the code will correspond to the country from where the ticket was purchased:
